Do not choose firmware from the miner family alone

How to identify an Antminer control board

The same Antminer model name can ship with different control boards. Treat the board as a required compatibility input, not a minor detail.

Identification sequence

  1. Record the full miner model and hardware revision from the chassis label.
  2. Open the current stock interface and record the complete firmware/build string.
  3. Check whether the interface or system information names the control-board platform.
  4. Power down safely and inspect the board label or part number if software identification is inconclusive.
  5. Compare the evidence with current model-specific developer instructions.
  6. Do not proceed if the board and package target do not match exactly.

Common platform names

Xilinx (XIL)

Often abbreviated XIL in package names. Confirm the exact board revision; the abbreviation alone is not a universal compatibility guarantee.

Amlogic (AML)

Often abbreviated AML. Installation and recovery paths may differ from Xilinx on the same miner family.

Cvitek (CV)

Often abbreviated CV. Do not assume an AML or XIL image is interchangeable.

BeagleBone / BB

May appear as BB or a board-specific part number. Confirm model, storage and install method before writing an image.

Stop condition: if you cannot identify the board confidently, do not flash. Save photos and part numbers, then consult current vendor documentation or qualified support.
